Join us for our tour of the Iberian Peninsula Wine Tasting

For this week’s wine tasting, our super wine expert, Mark Vigorito from Vinlandia, will be on hand to share with you views from his recent trip to Portugal and Spain. Join your fellow Sweet Hill Farm wine enthusiasts for convivial conversation over wine and a charcuterie board.

Your tasting experience will include:

Nortico Alvarinho – Sourced from 100% Alvarinho (Albarino in Spain) grapes, this unique farm-to-table white wine is light and delicate, perfect to enjoy on its own or with seafood and creamy cheese. It hails from the Vinho Regional Minho area in Northeastern Portugal, a coastal area on the border with Spain.

Miguel Pons, Cava Brut – This highly expressive and aromatic organic sparkling wine is created through the combination of Macabeau, Xarello and Parellada grapes. From the Alt Penedes region in Catalonia, Spain.

Bodegas as Laxas Rias Baixas Albarino – A family-owned organic winery located on the north side of the Minho river across from Portugal in Galicia, Spain. Located more inland, the wine is fuller bodied with some nice mineralization on the finish.

Quintas das Arcas, Dona Cepa Douro Tinto – DOC Douro – A red blend from the Doro region of Portugal with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. This is a balanced red with moderate acidity. Certified Biodynamic wine (organic equivalent) from Valongo, Portugal.

Bodegas Ochoa Calendas Navarra Tempranillo – Another family-owned organic winery originally founded in 1370 as the personal winery for the king of Navarra for 500 years. A somewhat fruit forward young red wine (100% Tempranillo) balanced nicely with soft tannins and mild acidity through the finish.
